Hello from Seattle, Washington USA, my name is John and I have been practicing one form of martial art off and on since I was 14. Everything from boxing ,Tae Kwon and wrestling in the backyard with friends during my youth to practicing combatives, judo and now thinking about doing some BJJ for fun in my adulthood (now 40).

Glad to see that this community is healthy and vibrant and that the spirit of combatives is still alive. This really is a small community and what is being archived in these forums is priceless. My goal is to share what I can and try to get some answers to a few questions that I have. About my experience as far as real life threatening encounters...can't really say that I’ve had any. Probably side-stepped most trouble just through good people skills and watching out for the wacko-s out there.
