PostSubject: Greetings!   Sun 29 Jun 2008, 18:48

Hi Guys!
My background isn't particularly relevant to this forum. I will detail it nevertheless -years ago I trained a little in Wing Chun and kickboxing, though never to any great standard. My interests until relatively recently being more with Shooting and Bushcraft.

However, about a year and a half ago I was involved in a very, vicious assault that nearly left me blinded in one eye. The dominant one. Eyesight is very important in my proffession and obviously in the various shooting sports that I participate in for pleasure. I DID make a full recovery, but it could have easily been ALOT different; and this obviously changed my perspective on self-protection and fighting in general: having nearly had both my professional and personal life destroyed. This led me to slowly re-examine areas that I hadn't looked at in years. Inevitably I ended up with a great interest in WWII Combatives, as luckily I still had a copy of 'All In Fighting' which I'd bought in my teens, buried in the bookcase.

I recognise alot of impressive names here and it seems like a great place to learn. There is also a subject which I have a great interest in, which I'm sure Dennis and others can help me with greatly -but I'll save that for another post!

All The Best!

Yes, I first found them around last Christmas -some absolutely fascinating stuff. Phils knowledge in particular is exceptional. I've been revisiting them this week, after someone mentioned your name and I figured it really was time I joined the forum. Its good to see history is being kept alive in this way!
