a public lecture to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the end of the First World War.
Professor Gary Sheffield will be discussing Sir Douglas Haig and his role in the series of victories leading to the German surrender in 1918.
Haig was the Edinburgh-born Commander-in-Chief of the British army on the Western Front during the First World War.
“Douglas Haig and the Forgotten Victories of 1918” will take place at 5.30pm on Friday 17 October in the Playfair Library Hall,
Edinburgh University .
