| This needs to be sorted out. Labalaba was a hero to many and only receiving a mention to the Queen in passing does not cover the debt we owe the man.
Is there a petition doing the rounds?

| Well the Battle of Mirbat was 40 years ago this week Although Labalaba still hasn't been awarded his rightful medal, the Regiment has honoured him. There is now a statue at Stirling Lines  By the way, Lofty does not have much in the way of photo memorabilia in his house. He has a group photo of B Squadron from when he was SSM, and the portrait of the great Fijian warrior Labalabe; showing just how highly thought of he was.  | |

| Tak and Laba taught themselves to fire the 25 pounder, it wasn't part of the team job, they just did it to pass the time. As usual in the Army, they were derided by the other guys. It turned out to have saved the day.
