RIP Sensei Damion Woods

I was shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Damion Woods, who died peacefully in his sleep.
Damion was a major figure on the Karate scene, as an instructor and a competitor.



He visited Okinawa several times, and achieved the high rank of Godan [5th degree black belt] under Master Higaonna.



He also trained in other styles, especially Shotokan, and attended some of our seminars.
It was only a few weeks ago that he invited me to a very enjoyable lunch at a Chinese restaurant.

Damion was a fighter and a gentleman, and he will be missed.
