As I type this men and women, old and young, all across Australia are on their way to the Dawn Service to commemorate the husbands, sons, brothers, daughters, sisters, and mates who have served, bled and even died for Australia since that very morning in 1915 at Gallipoli. In a few hours, they will march. It may be from Martin Place, up George Street past Town Hall in Sydney, or up past the memorial in some dusty country town to take the salute. Some amongst them will be remembering their own war, others will be honouring family or friends who sleep beneath the poppies in foreign fields or have 'No Known Grave'. A new generation will, some of them, marching for the first time, will be our newest 'old soldiers' fresh from Afghanistan. Others, family and friends will stand and watch proud to honour those who are there and those who have marched their last.
LEST WE FORGET.
WE SHALL REMEMBER THEM.
